Book Club Meet Up! | 12:30 PM & 5:30 PM

June 25

The City Scape Book Club is Celebrating 1-Year of fabulous books and connection over our favorite wines and we’re making a day of it!

Whether you are one of the original members or you are wanting to jump in for your first time, all are welcome. We’ll be meeting for our regular Book Club Meet Up at 12:30pm and 5:30pm to discuss our June Book Pick – be sure to get your ticket online for this part!

There will also be all kinds of extra things going on during the day that are the perfect pairings for book lovers. Our owner, Deb Jones, and the crafter of all of our City Scape candles will be hosting her Candles in the Cottage event with three different options to attend at 12:00pm, 2:30pm, or 5:00pm. Tickets and more information are available HERE! This event does have limited spots available at each time, so don’t wait too long to get your ticket!

We’re excited to welcome Paige Turner’s Romance Bookstore that day as well so you can pick up your next summer beach read and shop all the best extras and accessories as a book-lover!

Come for book club, candle-making, shopping and maybe even meet some new friends! It’s the perfect day to connect with those who love wine & books! You can come as a group of friends for the day or use it as an opportunity to meet some new friends – you know you’ve got at least a love of City Scape in common!

For the June Book Club we will be reading Eight Hundred Grapes, by Laura Dave.

There are secrets you share, and secrets you hide… What if your beloved fiancé, he of the crinkly smile and irresistible British accent, had kept a life-changing secret from you? And what if, just a week before your dream wedding, you discovered it?

Georgia Ford, bride-to-be, hops in her car and drives through the night, from Los Angeles to Sonoma, to her safe haven: her family, and the acclaimed family winery. Georgia craves the company of those who know her best, and whom she truly knows. Better yet, it’s the eve of the last harvest—the best time of the growing season, and Georgia knows she’ll find solace—and distraction—in the familiar rituals. But when Georgia arrives home, nothing is at all familiar. Her parents, her brothers, the family business, are all unrecognizable. It seems her fiancé isn’t the only one who’s been keeping secrets…

Eight Hundred Grapes is a story about the messy realities of family, the strength (and weaknesses) of romantic love, and the importance of finding a place to call home. “This winning tale will both satisfy on a literary level and encourage oenophiles to pour themselves a glass of a recent vintage to enjoy while reading; it’s a tasty treat for wine lovers and teetotalers alike” (Publishers Weekly). You won’t be able to put this “addictive” (Us Weekly) novel down.

You can purchase your own copy of the book in paperback or as an audiobook to listen!

This will be a perfect place for you to connect with others who love wine and books!
